Made in collaboration with the Creative Homes project run by the London Bubble Theatre Company.
Working along side project leader Helena Rice and with older participants from Keatons sheltered housing unit in Bermonsey, we would work with participants using object to tell stores. These objects would then be used as instruments in recording sound scapes underscoring the recordings.

MusicLab - Philharmonia Orchestra
MusicLab was a portable classroom filled with hands on activities designed to teach people of all ages and abilities about the orchestra. We delivered workshops to school children, community groups of physically and mentally disabled participants, OAPs and young offenders.
In 2015 were awarded the Royal Philharmonic Societies award for Audience and Engagement.
MusicLab was delivered as part of umbrella project iOrchestra.
iOrchestra was a pioneering, two-year music education and audience development project designed to use the Philharmonia’s expertise in interactive digital installations and technologies to ignite enthusiasm and participation in classical music among new audiences.
Based in three regions in the South West – Plymouth, Torbay and Cornwall – iOrchestra reached more than 45,000 local schoolchildren, community groups and adults in its first 13 weeks of activity between April and July 2014, almost 200% of its original target.
The other elements of the project focused on offering a hands-on digital music experience for less socially mobile communities, and on encouraging audiences for the digital projects to experience a live symphony orchestra for the first time. MusicLab, a new mobile education installation housed in a purpose-built trailer, brought interactive digital music activities directly to 13 local communities around the three locations, welcoming school groups, community groups and local residents. More than 3,000 schoolchildren and more than 6,500 visitors in total explored MusicLab between April and July. MusicLab has subsequently toured to Cambridge and the Isle of Man engaging with a range of different communities before returning again to the South West in 2015.
Music in Performance - Thespo 18 (India)
As part of Thespo Theatre Festival and in conjunction with the making of Jugaad, I led workshops designed to introduce participants to the use of music in performance.
Participants ranging in ability and experience were asked to explore the uses of different music within a scene. The results saw that these decisions, whether working as a director, performer or musician, can have drastic effects on the outcome and overall drive of a scene or piece.
As the workshop was attended by artists of various practices, participants were then encouraged to explore how these thought processes could apply to their own work when working in collaboration.
Felix's School of Rock
Set up by Felix Glenn in 2004 this music charity gives participants the chance to play, write and perform in a band.
Over 4 days every half term, Easter and Summer holidays, the bands are formed of 9-16 year olds of varying musical ability. They play under the tuition of enthusiastic professional tutors, working to create original songs and their own versions of great rock and pop classics.
The 4 day experience is designed to work towards a professionally engineered final performance where friends and family are invited along.
The four days are not only great fun but are enormously confidence building. Also a great chance to meet fellow musicians, make friends or form a band.
